The Cleveland Middle School Band program provides an outstanding musical
experience for students in grades 6 through 8. The CVMS program offers four bands: 6th Grade Beginning Band, 7th Grade Intermediate Band, 8th Grade Symphonic Band, and Stage Band. Students in the CVMS Band also regularly participate in the North Carolina Bandmasters Association South Eastern District All-District Band and the Johnston County All-County Honors Band.

The CVMS Band Program is dedicated to giving students the opportunity to grow musically, socially, and academically. The bands have also earned regional recognition for musical excellence. CVMS bands have received excellent and superior ratings at NCBDA MPA Festivals and Music in the Parks Festivals.

The success of the band program comes from the dedicated effort of our students and parents and the support of the administration and school district.  Students in the CVMS band usually begin their music education at Cleveland Elementary and West View Elementary with music teachers Carla Jones and Angie Searcy.  Our students will continue their music studies with the fine programs at Cleveland and West Johnston High Schools.

Several graduates of Cleveland Middle School Bands have continued on with their musical endeavors and are currently members of active college band programs and organizations throughout North Carolina. We also have current students studying music at some of the finest schools in the nation.
