The band classes at Cleveland Middle School are offered as part our arts curriculum. Students participate in these classes during the school day. Cleveland Middle School provides opportunities for students to participate in 6th grade band, 7th grade band, 8th grade band, Stage Band, and Winterguard ensembles.

2025-2026 Middle School Winterguard
The Cleveland Arts Middle School Winterguard is an extracurricular ensemble for students in grades 5-8 enrolled in the Cleveland community feeder schools. Students will learn introductory and basic skills of flag and dance. More advanced students may learn introductory skills on other equipment. Students will rehearse late fall through early winter and will perform and compete locally and regionally.
Auditions for this year's winterguard will be held Mondays in October from 5:30-8:00 in the cafeteria at Cleveland Middle School. To register for auditions please fill out the interest form HERE.

Why Join Band?
There are many benefits to playing in band. Playing together is all about cooperation, teamwork and learning to follow direction as a group. You get to spend time with people who share your love of music and make new friends in the process. Band is a fun and constructive way to spend your time. It gives you something new and interesting to do that builds important skills you’ll need in school and later in life. Learning to read music improves pattern recognition, a skill that’s essential in all academic areas. Kids in band tend to do better in science and math, have better organizational skills and are more likely to do well when the time comes to take the EOGs. |
